Dear Trop-lovers, next year is our 20th anniversary. It seems like only yesterday there were a few dozen of us at the Tropicana Cafe in Sydney, watching one (rather ordinary) short film of my own. Today, Tropfest is indisputably the largest short film festival in the world – in fact, probably the largest live film screening of ANY kind in the world.
As I write this, Tropfest is exploding internationally. The inaugural Tropfest Arabia takes place in November of this year, and discussions are well underway for Tropfest New York in 2012. We are also in development with cities around the world to launch more Tropfests in the coming months and years.
Wherever you may be, please join us live and online to celebrate the best in short content. And if you’re a filmmaker, either in Australia, the US, Arabia, or anywhere else for that matter, get going on creating a short film that could launch your career.
