  ‘Elevator’ is a suspense/ drama about a single mother, Jenny and her young son, Cody.

  Loosely based on the Director’s personal experience, ‘Elevator’ depicts the feeling of panic that ensues when mother and son are unfortunately separated.

  Jennifer Ross is from Melbourne, Australia. She is currently working on a film documenting a year in the running of vineyard, Bluestone Acres. ‘Elevator’ is her first short film.

  I’M HAPPY
  Michael Neithardt

  I’M HAPPY follows a young man at the moment of death being forced to face the regrets of his life.

  Michael Neithardt began his career as Assistant to Miramax Film’s Bob Weinstein. He’s held posts at MTV Networks, Sony Music, ran Stardust Studios NY and currently is an Executive Producer at Psyop NY. He works extensively in theater as an actor and producer.

  Tropfest is returning to New York this summer! Making the move from Manhattan to Brooklyn, the event will be hosted by acclaimed actor, producer, director, and screenwriter Liev Schreiber on Saturday, June 22^nd in Prospect Park.

  The move to Brooklyn will allow for an expanded festival featuring music, food, art installations and of course, a lineup of great short films that will be screened and judged live by an esteemed panel of industry and celebrity judges.

  MINGO
  Directed by Romy Randev

  A young girl wants a puppy but her mother won’t let her have one. Instead, she meets Mingo who takes her on a day of fun around San Francisco.

  Romy Randev moved to San Francisco to grow his small interactive media shop. In 2011, he enrolled in a workshop and learned the basics of filmmaking. MINGO is his first film.

• In 2012, New York-based filmmaker Alexander Poe found out about Tropfest in the nick of time. Using a ‘Bagel’ for inspiration (‘Bagel’ was the Tropfest Signature Item in 2012), Poe quickly pulled together a script and a crew and made the fantastic short ‘The Break-Up Tour’. The film went on to win 2^nd place at Tropfest New York and confirmed that Poe is certainly one emerging filmmaker to keep an eye out for.   Directed by Josh Leake

  A documentary that follows people who collect beverage containers as their principal source of income.

  Josh Leake is from Portland, Oregon and has eight chickens, two cats and a bulldog. ‘Emptys’ is his first film. Josh is currently in production on his second short and in development on a narrative based on a story by Bertholt Brecht.

  SYNOPSIS: Time Travel, it is easier done than said.

• Tropfest, the world’s largest short film festival which staged its hugely successful U.S debut in Bryant Park earlier this year in front of a 10,000 plus capacity crowd, today announced its next phase of programming, the Roughcut film symposium. Produced in the United States in partnership with The Film Society of Lincoln Center, Roughcut is an exclusive and intimate day-long series of lectures, conversations and presentations about the art of storytelling on screen. The event will feature actor/writer/director Liev Schreiber (Salt, X-Men: Origins, Everything Is Illuminated), film editor Sarah Flack (Lost in Translation), producer/writer Scott Rosenberg (Gone in 60 Seconds, Con Air), Entertainment Weekly’s film critic Lisa Schwarzbaum, Global Chief Creative Officer of R/GA Nick Law and Tropfest’s founder and director/producer John Polson (Swimfan, Hide and Seek) in moderated conversations with FSLC Associate Director of Programming, Scott Foundas.  Best-selling author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell (The Tipping Point, Outliers) will keynote the event in a conversation with internationally celebrated screenwriter Charles Randolph (Love and Other Drugs). Roughcut will be held on Friday, December 7^th beginning at 10 am at The Film Society of Lincoln Center’s landmark state-of-the-art Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.
