Special Projects

Major Partners have the opportunity to “own” a distinct property within the festival. This could be a special initiative with one of our filmmakers, naming rights to a category, or the commission of a short film for commercial use. Tropfest has a strong track record of delivering fresh and creative solutions for partner, with some recent examples below.

Movie Extra produced the official live broadcast plus associated content across TV and online platforms in 2012, 2011 and 2010.
Telstra John Polson
Nikon
Nikon have introduced a new category for Tropfest entrants in 2013 – the Nikon DSLR¬†film category, in which all entries must be filmed entirely on a DSLR camera.Designed to give filmmakers a new and accessible outlet to express their creativity, the Nikon DSLR Film Category also showcases the versatility and capabilities of video recording technology in DSLR cameras. 
Mitsubishi
The Lancer Supershort Series was a branded filmmaker initiative with a fully integrated marketing campaign to launch the new Lancer.
Jameson
Jameson has used Tropfest as a platform to launch their own screenwriting competition, as well as hosting a bar-lounge at the festival.
Wedgewood
Wedgewood commissioned a film to celebrate their 250th anniversary in 2009, and were also the official picnic hamper sponsor that year.
TropJr Onitsuka Tiger Award
Onitsuka Tiger
We created a new category for Trop Jr, the Onitsuka Tiger Award (for fearless filmmaking), with the winner commissioned to make a short film inspired by the Onitsuka Tiger brand.
