Wish we could see the films on this website. How can we view them? Would love to see Lemonade Stand.
The previous funny film I’d collaboratively made was Australia’s short film entry in the 50th Cannes, and won Toronto in 1997.
So when I entered this year’s collaboration PERFECT CRACK in Tropfest 2012, it was with high expectation. To my surprise, surely through some inadvertant oversight, it was not selected as a finalist.
Sydney’s bright and sunny sky lured me to The Domain, more than anything else to humour the judges and scoff at their error of judgement.
MY MISTAKE! I am humbled…
I waded out of The Domain last night. Drenched. Before I left, I genuflected in the direction of the judges.
In the main, in my opinion, the selections were first-rate.
Quirky humour abounded! The film which came 2nd was my fave, in a field tough to split.
Hey Alethea, congratulations! And a question. Where did you recruit your cast of ‘freaks’? A more eccentric motley lot would only be found in a Jean-Pierre Jeunet comic odyssey.
I want to see ALL the entries again. A free DVD of them will accompany this Saturday’s (25 Feb) SMH.
Well done everybody!
Seems to me Australia’s film-making and it’s judging is in good hands…
